Singaporean students top again in global benchmarking survey for math and science

Once again, students in Singapore have proved their brilliance in math and science, topping in the international benchmarking survey ‘Trends in International Mathematics and Science Study (TIMSS)’. Not only doing excellent, the students also have shown more positive attitude towards the subjects, showing effectiveness of the government’s efforts to reduce content and allow them to learn in a more active and enjoyable way. In the latest TIMSS survey, Primary 4 and Secondary 2 students in Singapore outperformed their peers from 63 other countries in math and science. According to a regular study conducted every four years in the country since 1995, students have consistently been done well in study.
