Richer content on ancient India in curriculum of Californian schools
The California State Board of Education has recently approved a new school curriculum that will include richer content on ancient India. The curriculum framework, which will update and upgrade history and social science instruction in California, was developed over the last two years, going through several rounds of public hearings. The earlier content saw many controversies including the push by a group of top academics to rename ancient India with South Asia. To the disappointment of a section of academicians, the state board in the US decided to favour India.
