As automation, machine-learning, artificial intelligence and bots are increasingly happening these days, future of manual tasks is at stake. In this, Nandan Nilekani, former chairman of UIDAI (Unique Identification Authority of India) and co-founder of Infosys said such threat would directly affect a lot of jobs in the IT (software) and BPO sectors. As a remedy, he emphasised the need for re-skilling and an overhaul of the education system, saying that a lot of jobs that exist today will not exist in future, so curriculums should be based on innovative and creative practices. He further stated that the education system would have to respond with a whole new model of providing life-long education, just in time, highly personalised, to cope with the changes in time.
