CBSE annual exams make a comeback but in revised exam pattern

Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has released the Assessment Scheme 2022-23, announcing its decision to go back to the annual scheme of examinations for the assessment year 2022-23 for Class 10 and 12 Board Exams. The board has changed the examination pattern. In the circular sent to the affiliated schools stated that for the academic year, there would be only one term or one board examination (as was the norm earlier). For Class 10, question papers would comprise 40 percent MCQs, 20 percent competency-based questions and remaining 40 percent would constitute of subjective or short/ long answer type questions. As for Class 12, the break up would be 30 percent competency based, 20 percent MCQs and 50 percent long/ short type answers.
