Comics that many parents used to keep away from their children during study hours are now becoming an integral part of syllabus. The Council of Indian School Certificate, which conducts ICSE and ISC board examinations, is introducing a revised syllabus that consists of stories from Amar Chitra Katha and popular international comic reads like Harry Potter, Tintin, among others. The council has decided to refurbish the syllabus in a bid to add more contemporary literature to school curriculum. The new curriculum was released at the 59th Annual Conference of Association of Schools for the Indian School Certificate (ISC) organised recently in Lucknow. Moreover, in the upcoming 2017-18 academic session, ICSE will also bring in uniform syllabus for all primary and junior schools under the council.
