AIELS International Conference organised in New Delhi

All India Edu-Leaders (AIELS) has recently organised its International Conference themed ‘The Challenges for the 21st Century Schools’ at New Delhi. Designed as an open platform for sharing visions and unparallel ideas, the conference was an unprecedented opportunity to improve the lives of young people. Inauguration of the conference was marked with keynote address from Salman Khurshid, former Minister of External Affairs, in presence of Dr V Kulwant, VC, University of Patanjali (Haridwar) as guest of honour; Priyadarshi Nayak, founder principal of AIELS, among other dignitaries.

The conference was divided into three different sessions. The first session stressed on the discussion about ‘Assessment for Learning’ by a panel of eminent speakers comprising Dharamveer Singh, Director and Principal, Shri Guru Harkrishan Sr Sec Public School (Amritsar) in the chair, alongside Dr HS Srivastava, former Dean, NCERT; and Mansa Pande, Master Trainer, CBSE. Keeping a spotlight on ‘child development’, the second session revolved around interactive discussion on ‘Role of Formative Assessments in Indian Classrooms’ in which Radha Singh, Master Trainer, CBSE and other keynote speakers talked at length on the topic.

For an all-round functioning of a school one needs to focus on the curriculum, pedagogy and assessment practices. All of it should be based on real life experiences. Keeping this vision in mind, the third session of the conference revolved around the topic ‘Challenges for 21st Century Education’ in which Dr Saroj Yadav, Dean, NCERT and Prof Najma Siddique, former Dean, University of Delhi, were the keynote speakers under the chairmanship of KK Sharma, former lecturer, Himachal Pradesh University.

At the closure, the AIELS team was elated with the overall success of the event. AIELS is an endeavour of like-minded professionals working for enrichment of schools and empowerment of teaching community.
